my response to Rashad Mendenhall’s tweet
If you read Mendenhall’s tweets he is just questioning people’s responses. saying who celebrates death.
I see so many fb status and tweets celebrating bin laden’s death.
For what osama bin laden has done he had what was coming to him but if he was just simply captured rather than killed, I’m sure everyone would be just as relieved.
after the initial bin laden tweets, mendenhall posted:
“I believe in God. I believe we’re ALL his children. And I believe HE is the ONE and ONLY judge.”
“For those of you who said you want to see Bin Laden burn … I ask how would God feel about your heart?”
“There is not an ignorant bone in my body. I just encourage you to think.”
bin laden is responsible for thousands of people’s deaths, and society today will tell you the only justice for those crimes is punishable by death.
reminds me a story about Saul. Saul was notoriously known for persecuting the church but was confronted by God on Damascus Road by a blinding light. He repented of his unbelief calling Jesus his Lord and ready to serve. His name changed and later became known as Paul the Apostle.
I can’t help but think of what might of happened if bin laden was met by the One true God and if he would have led a nation to Christ
For myself i’m relieved that bin laden’s rule has ended, but to every leader’s fall one will rise
